Quid est veritas?

The Compass Rose of the

Anglican Communion

“The center of the Compass Rose contains the cross of St. George and is surrounded by the inscription in Greek, “The truth shall set you free.” The points of a compass reflect the spread of Anglican Christianity throughout the world. The mitre at the top indicates the role of Episcopacy and Anglican Order that is at the heart of the traditions of the Churches of the Communion.”

“The truth shall set you free.” That’s from the Gospel of John chapter 8 verse 32. That’s what it says. And yet the “Ill-luminati” of tec would have us live in the lie of bondage to the wims and fads and ear-ticklings of this age of self-absorption. The image of the movie the Matrix comes to mind.

When Morpheus and Neo meet, Morpheus offers Neo two pills. The red pill will answer the question “what is the Matrix?” (by removing him from it) and the blue pill will enable him to carry on as before (living in a computer-generated fabrication of life). As Neo reaches for the red pill Morpheus warns Neo “Remember, all I’m offering is the truth. Nothing more.” And yet “we” (tec) can’t handle the truth and would prefer to ponder the question than hear the faithful answer that has been handed down from the beginning. TEC chooses the blue pill.

But the Church is the pillar and ground of truth (1 Timothy 3:15). Give me the red pill! Wake me from the self-generated salvation of the deluded which is eternal death. Let me wake up into Life so that I may live and repent and experience transformation and offer myself and the world as a thank offering to God. I choose the Truth of Scripture faithfully understood within the context of The Church!
