conspicuous consumption

I haven’t written very much about fasting since the first piece. Mine has been a spiritual failure. I have done the things that I have not wanted to do and not done the things that I have wanted. Thanks be to God for the mercy, grace, peace, hope, and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And now for something completely different. Here’s some impetus for realizing why we need to fast:
